Fengyuan Original Interior Restaurant is an innovative interior design project that revolutionizes the traditional Chinese dining experience through its distinctive architectural approach and artistic expression. Located in Guangzhou, China, this remarkable space design, created by Lili Xie and Fan Huang in 2018, transforms the conventional restaurant environment into an immersive installation art piece inspired by coconut trees, perfectly complementing its signature coconut water hotpot cuisine. The design's cornerstone features 475 meticulously crafted palm leaf sculptures, each standing four meters tall, fabricated from green-plated, mirror-polished stainless steel in eight distinct variations. These sculptural elements serve both aesthetic and functional purposes, acting as space dividers while creating a fantastical forest atmosphere. The technical innovation lies in the precise engineering of the leaf structures, utilizing 3mm thick 201 steel with a 130-degree central axis fold, enabling them to stand independently without additional support.
