Feast Of Color Residential Design

Feast Of Color Residential Design

Feast of Color Residential Design is an innovative residential interior design project that masterfully balances feminine elegance with masculine elements, completed in Kaohsiung, Taiwan in 2019. The 121-square-meter space showcases a sophisticated interplay of contrasting materials and design elements, featuring a distinctive iron screen at the entrance that displays dynamic color variations under natural light. The design's centerpiece is an ingenious lighting installation in the living room ceiling, incorporating two separate circuits of varying wattage and brightness, one of which creates a symbolic representation of the Big Dipper constellation, embodying traditional auspicious symbolism. The project, designed by Shao-Kuo Wu and Ching-Yu Han, demonstrates exceptional spatial planning through its integration of metropolitan sophistication and vacation-like comfort, exemplified by unique features such as an open kitchen with iron-supported log table, decorative flower tiles, and a creative blackboard wall that serves as an interactive family message board. The design earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its innovative approach to residential space transformation. Notable design elements include the strategic use of blue wall sections to reduce visual pressure in the open bookcase, continuous wood paneling in the hallway concealing storage solutions, and the harmonious blend of industrial and decorative materials throughout the space, creating an environment that successfully caters to both the feminine majority of the household while maintaining masculine architectural elements.
