Extractor Hoods For Kitchens

Extractor hoods, also known as range hoods or exhaust hoods, are devices installed above cooking appliances in kitchens to remove smoke, steam, heat, and odors generated during cooking. The primary function of an extractor hood is to improve the air quality in the kitchen by removing pollutants and preventing them from spreading throughout the house. Extractor hoods typically consist of a canopy or hood that covers the cooking surface, a fan that draws air through the hood, and a duct that vents the air outside the house. The hood may also have filters that trap grease and other particles, preventing them from entering the ductwork and potentially causing a fire hazard. The effectiveness of an extractor hood depends on several factors, including the size and power of the fan, the size and shape of the hood, and the length and configuration of the ductwork. Proper installation and maintenance are also crucial for optimal performance. Extractor hoods are available in a variety of styles and materials to match the decor of the kitchen. Some models are designed to be mounted under cabinets, while others are designed to be suspended from the ceiling. They may be made of stainless steel, glass, or other materials, and may feature built-in lighting to illuminate the cooking surface. In addition to improving air quality, extractor hoods can also help to reduce the risk of fire in the kitchen by removing grease and other flammable particles from the air. They may also help to reduce the amount of moisture in the air, which can help to prevent mold growth and other moisture-related problems.
