Exquisite Moon Dreamer Tea Set

Exquisite Moon Dreamer Tea Set

Exquisite Moon Dreamer Tea set is an artistically crafted silver and copper tea service that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of traditional Chinese garden aesthetics with contemporary functional design. Created by designer Cong Ma in 2017-2018, this sophisticated tea set features intricate elements inspired by classical Chinese garden architecture, including moon gates, Taihu stones, and ornate window patterns. The set's distinctive design incorporates a linear bridge-like handle that pays homage to the iconic Broken Bridge at West Lake in Hangzhou, while the layered construction employs an innovative 36-layer silver and copper forging technique that demonstrates exceptional craftsmanship. The teapot, measuring 153mm in width and 172.5mm in height, features a sculptural lid adorned with ripple patterns and a Taihu stone-inspired knob, while the cups (66mm x 35mm) showcase unique hollow-carved window patterns that not only serve as aesthetic elements but also as practical identifiers for users. The double-wall construction of the cups provides thermal protection, combining functionality with artistic expression. The set's saucers (110mm x 14.57mm) complete the ensemble with complementary design elements that echo the classical Chinese garden motifs. This remarkable tea set, which earned the Silver A' Design Award in the Bakeware, Tableware, Drinkware and Cookware Design category, represents a significant achievement in preserving and reimagining traditional craftsmanship for contemporary use, while creating an immersive experience that captures the essence of Eastern aesthetics in daily tea ceremonies.
