Explicit Sun Sample House

Explicit Sun Sample House

Explicit Sun Sample House is an innovative residential interior design project completed in 2016 in Taiwan, exemplifying a harmonious blend of natural light integration and sophisticated spatial planning. The design, created by Ching-Hua Yang, showcases a masterful approach to creating a tranquil living environment that seamlessly connects indoor spaces with natural elements. The project's distinctive features include a strategically designed light slit in the building structure and a broken closed cement cage, which introduces natural illumination throughout the space. The interior is characterized by crisp white lines that echo the ceiling design, while the reception and reading areas are thoughtfully differentiated through the implementation of walls and cabinet systems. A notable architectural element is the lattice ceiling constructed from timber, which establishes a welcoming, leisure-oriented atmosphere upon entry. The design incorporates a sophisticated public spatial solid surface wall that effectively delineates public and private zones, while maintaining visual fluidity through carefully considered sight lines. The traversing design elements include a pumice quantity body in the rear area, featuring a multi-purpose tabletop and an arc book wall that extends to a balcony bed, creating a seamless integration of light, plant life, and natural ventilation. The project, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2017, demonstrates exceptional expertise in maximizing natural light utilization and creating spaces that promote wellbeing through connection with nature. The design's success lies in its ability to transform an indoor environment into a pavilion-like reading room that maintains strong visual connections with the outdoor environment, effectively bringing the serenity of nature into the living space.
