European Forest Residential House

European Forest Residential House

European Forest Residential House is an award-winning residential interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of European countryside aesthetics with contemporary Nordic elements, completed in 2017 in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan. This 198-square-meter dwelling showcases a thoughtfully renovated layout that effectively separates public and private spaces while incorporating extensive storage solutions to maintain a pristine living environment. The design's distinctive features include an entryway adorned with bright wood cabinets and branch-like wall racks, complemented by an apple green wall that introduces natural elements into the space. The public area comprises an open-plan living room, dining area, and kitchen, delineated through sophisticated use of wood beam structures and varied flooring materials. The space demonstrates exceptional attention to detail, featuring floor-to-ceiling wood blinds for optimal daylight control, a fireplace-like wall element, and hexagonal floor tiles that define the kitchen zone with its open island counter. The dining area, positioned adjacent to windows, incorporates a light-colored solid wood dining table beneath an antler-inspired ceiling lamp, while dried flower bouquets suspended from iron ceiling racks reinforce the European countryside aesthetic. The design, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, successfully creates a sophisticated living environment that balances functionality with aesthetic refinement, featuring thoughtful elements such as a piano area with bookshelves and stone-adorned low cabinets that enhance the spatial flow and visual expansion of the interior.
