Eternal Day, Eternal Night Residential

Eternal Day, Eternal Night Residential

Eternal day, eternal night Residential is an innovative architectural transformation project that exemplifies the sophisticated interplay between natural light and interior design aesthetics. This former public housing apartment, converted into an office space, demonstrates exceptional spatial planning and artistic vision through its distinctive architectural elements. The design's most notable feature is its elevated first floor, raised five steps from the basement level, which creates a commanding presence enhanced by strategically placed display windows. The exterior facade incorporates meticulously crafted metal-framed windows arranged in a fan-shaped configuration, creating dynamic visual effects through the interplay of light and shadow throughout the day and night. The interior design philosophy centers on the masterful use of black and white contrasts, employing various materials, furnishings, and classical architectural elements to create a harmonious yet complex spatial experience. The project, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, showcases innovative use of horizontal and vertical layering techniques, incorporating classical columns as both structural and visual focal points. The design's sophisticated approach to natural and artificial lighting transforms the space's character from day to night, creating two distinct yet equally compelling atmospheric experiences that engage passersby and occupants alike. This residential transformation project stands as a testament to the potential of adaptive reuse in architecture, demonstrating how thoughtful design can elevate everyday spaces into extraordinary environments that blur the boundaries between functionality and artistic expression.
