Erganzung des Originals Art is a groundbreaking artistic exploration and communication system created by Swiss artist Andre Quirinus Zurbriggen that transforms naturally occurring white veins in river stones into meaningful linguistic symbols. This innovative artistic approach, which earned a Silver A' Design Award in the Fine Arts and Art Installation Design category, represents a profound intersection between nature and human communication, where carefully selected and arranged river stones reveal Latin letters through their natural patterns, enabling the formation of words and sentences. The project, which began in 2006, emerged from Zurbriggen's five-year worldwide journey and experiences with indigenous communities in Indonesia, where he developed a deeper understanding of found objects' spiritual significance. The comprehensive stone alphabet includes both upper and lower case letters, numbers, and special characters, presented through a sophisticated dual-display system comprising a glass showcase and digital interface. The installation's physical dimensions are carefully considered, with individual stones measuring 50mm in diameter and the complete alphabet spanning 1600mm or arranged in two 800mm rows.
