Endless Life Residence

Endless Life Residence

Endless Life Residence is an award-winning residential interior design project completed in Taiwan in 2023, exemplifying a harmonious integration of natural elements with contemporary living spaces. The 297.5-square-meter, three-story residence, designed by Li-Hsuan Chen, showcases an innovative approach to modern living through its thoughtful material selection and spatial arrangement. The design philosophy centers on connecting interior spaces with the changing seasons, achieved through the strategic use of materials such as marble with terrazzo patterns, wood grain architectural concrete, and elegant linear lighting strips. The residence features an open-plan layout that transforms potential spatial constraints into advantages, particularly evident in the social areas of the first floor where an openwork approach creates seamless connections between living and dining spaces. The sophisticated material palette, dominated by grayscale tones and natural textures, is enhanced by technically challenging elements such as the meticulously crafted wood grain architectural concrete wall. The design's distinctive features include a central staircase combining terrazzo and marble, large floor-to-ceiling windows that frame seasonal changes, and open shelving systems that encourage dynamic family interactions through seasonally rotating displays. The project, which earned recognition at the A' Design Award competition in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates exceptional attention to detail in its construction, particularly in the execution of complex architectural elements that required precise craftsmanship and timing management. The residence's design successfully creates an environment that facilitates family connectivity while maintaining a strong connection to nature and the passage of time.
