Emile-Jacques Ruhlmann
Emile-Jacques Ruhlmann, a highly esteemed French artist, is celebrated for his exquisite and luxurious furniture pieces that blended modernist aesthetics with traditional design sensibilities. Ruhlmann's style was characterised by meticulously carved and beautifully detailed works that seamlessly fused traditional materials such as exotic woods and parchment with radiant metals and Art Deco forms. His work was greatly appreciated by the office of the Interior Minister in Paris, and he received a gold medal at the 1925 Paris Exposition. His furniture designs continue to be remarkable examples of the high standard of craftsmanship of the Art Deco era. Three of his most renowned works are the 'La Table d'Étoupe', the 'Suite Pavillon Dauphine' and the 'Cabinet Eucalyptus'.
