Elegant Whirling Of Wood Residential
Elegant Whirling of Wood Residential is an innovative interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious integration of natural wood elements within a modern living space, created by designers Tzu-Yi Yang and Chun-Chun Yang. This 117-square-meter residential interior, completed in 2018 in Taichung City, Taiwan, masterfully incorporates substantial wooden logs with diameters of 1.2 meters and lengths of 3.6 meters as central design elements throughout the space. The design philosophy emphasizes a sophisticated balance between natural materials and contemporary living requirements, featuring carefully planned spaces including an entrance, living room, dining room, kitchen, shared bathroom, Japanese tatami room, guest room, second bedroom, master bedroom, dressing room, and main bathroom. The project's distinctive characteristic lies in its innovative use of Myanmar teak and mahogany logs, complemented by customized iron elements, natural stone, black mirror, and other premium materials to create a visually striking yet harmonious environment. The designers overcame significant technical challenges in incorporating the massive wooden elements, particularly in the television cabinet design, where precise engineering was required to manage the substantial weight while maintaining aesthetic elegance. The space employs a refined color palette of black, white, and grey tones to enhance the natural wood textures, while the open-plan layout promotes barrier-free living and optimal natural light distribution. This project, recognized with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates exceptional expertise in combining traditional craftsmanship with modern design principles to create a sophisticated retirement living space that caters to both individual and family needs.
