Elegant West Garden Villa

Elegant West Garden Villa

Elegant West Garden Villa is a distinguished residential interior design project completed in 2019 in Qingyuan, Guangdong, that masterfully bridges traditional Song Dynasty aesthetics with contemporary living spaces across 248 square meters. Designed by Sara Xiong, this innovative villa interior draws profound inspiration from Eastern cultural elements, particularly emphasizing the significance of seasonal transitions and traditional customs such as the October Persimmon Feast. The design philosophy centers on creating a harmonious blend of modern aesthetic sensibilities while maintaining deep connections to Oriental spiritual and artistic traditions. The project's material palette includes sophisticated elements such as petrified wood, walnut wood, silk, leather, and copper, carefully selected to create an atmosphere that scholars have compared to the Eastern Renaissance period. The spatial composition demonstrates a sophisticated understanding of void and solid relationships, creating a rhythmic flow that responds to seasonal changes and human movement patterns. Artistic elements are strategically integrated throughout the space, serving not merely as decorative features but as vital components that enhance the emotional resonance between the environment and its inhabitants. The project, which won an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2021, exemplifies excellence in contemporary interior design while preserving cultural heritage. Its success lies in its ability to translate classical Chinese aesthetic principles into a modern context, creating living spaces that honor traditional values while meeting contemporary lifestyle needs.
