Elegant Artists Residence

Elegant Artists Residence

Elegant Artists Residence is an exemplary interior design project completed in 2020, showcasing a sophisticated living space meticulously crafted for a newlywed couple in Taoyuan City, Taiwan. This 83-square-meter residential interior demonstrates a masterful integration of elegant aesthetics and functional design, characterized by its thoughtful deployment of contrasting black-and-white color schemes, natural marble elements, and refined linear compositions that create a gentle yet commanding spatial presence. The design, conceived and executed by Hui Chun Yu, encompasses a comprehensive layout featuring a living room, dining area, kitchen, master bedroom with walk-in closet, secondary bedroom, and two bathrooms, all unified through a cohesive design language that emphasizes gradation and rhythmic repetition. Notable design elements include carefully curated mosaic marble tiling that creates abstract visual patterns, painted veneer surfaces, decorative boards, and scratch-resistant timber flooring, all working in harmony to establish a sophisticated living environment. The project's innovative approach to space optimization is evident in its strategic floor plan modifications, including the repositioning of the bathroom door and master bedroom wall to enhance spatial flow and functionality. The interior's public and private domains are seamlessly connected through an open plan concept and transparent materiality, while white lining boards traverse the ceiling, walls, and cabinets to create visual continuity throughout the space. This exceptional residential design project was recognized with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its outstanding contribution to residential interior design excellence and innovative space utilization.
