Elegance Of Cat Residence

Elegance Of Cat Residence

Elegance of Cat Residence is an award-winning interior design project completed in March 2018 in Taichung City, Taiwan, that exemplifies sophisticated residential space planning inspired by the graceful nature of cats and their behavioral patterns. The 145-square-meter residence, designed by Jumu Chiang, masterfully integrates various functional areas including a living room, open kitchen, dining room, study room, two bedrooms, and three bathrooms, each thoughtfully crafted to reflect both practical utility and aesthetic refinement. The design philosophy draws inspiration from feline elegance, incorporating cozy corners and balanced spatial arrangements that mirror cats' natural preferences for comfortable spaces. The interior features premium materials including dawn white stone, titanium-plated metal, insulating glass with partial sandblasting, gray-black veneer, natural walnut veneer, and distinctive Inkiostro Bianco wall treatments. The layout demonstrates particular innovation in its intuitive structuring of public areas, where sandblasted glass and strategic placement of the television wall create discrete functional zones while maintaining visual continuity. The project showcases exceptional attention to detail in its storage solutions, featuring suspended designs and varied material applications that add depth and sophistication to the space. The foyer serves as a thoughtful transition between exterior and interior spaces, enhancing security while maintaining aesthetic coherence. The design earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its excellence in spatial planning, material selection, and innovative approach to residential design.
