Eden Garden dining pavilion is an innovative architectural and artistic installation that seamlessly integrates dining, nature, and artistic expression within a Victorian-era pub setting in Chelsea, London. Created by designer Henry Chebaane, this sophisticated dining space encompasses a 20-square-meter pavilion featuring a remarkable centerpiece: a chandelier composed of 300 meticulously hand-painted butterflies, symbolizing a vineyard during its flowering season. The installation, recognized with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates exceptional attention to detail in its execution, combining traditional craftsmanship with modern technological processes. The pavilion's design incorporates carefully selected botanical elements that pay homage to Chelsea's horticultural heritage, particularly referencing the work of Victorian botanist Robert Fortune. The structure accommodates fourteen guests at a single oak table, creating an intimate communal dining experience enhanced by thoughtfully curated plantings chosen for their visual appeal, aromatic properties, and historical significance. The technical realization involves laser-cut aluminum butterflies individually spray-painted with abstract patterns in gold, white, and three shades of green, complemented by wire cages, Edison light bulbs, and extensive green fabric electrical leading. The pavilion's functionality extends beyond its aesthetic appeal, featuring interchangeable planters that can be transformed into ice containers for refreshments, while integrated tea plants and edible flowers serve both decorative and culinary purposes.
