Ecco Xi'an Office is an innovative interior design project completed in 2019, representing a harmonious fusion of Nordic design elements with traditional Chinese cultural elements in a contemporary workspace setting. Located in Xi'an, China, this 1,344-square-meter office space exemplifies a sophisticated approach to commercial interior architecture through its thoughtful integration of natural elements, cultural references, and functional workspace solutions. The design, created by Dang Ming and Li Dandi along with their team, showcases a remarkable balance between Eastern and Western design philosophies, featuring distinctive elements such as a leather brick wall inspired by Xi'an's historic city wall, and artistic installations that reference Shaanxi shadow puppetry. The space incorporates premium materials including QUARELLA stone, MILLIKEN carpet, and KVADRAT glass, creating a dynamic interplay of textures and surfaces. The office layout emphasizes diversity in workspace arrangements, utilizing geometric forms and carefully considered color combinations to enhance employee creativity and wellbeing. Notable design features include a unique background wall decorated with traditional shoe-making tools, demonstrating a thoughtful connection to footwear craftsmanship heritage. The project, which received the Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, successfully addresses complex design challenges through innovative material transitions, specialized production techniques, and cultural integration, ultimately creating an environment that promotes both productivity and aesthetic appreciation.
