Dry Wata Towel Hanger

Dry Wata Towel Hanger

Dry Wata Towel Hanger is an innovative bathroom accessory that ingeniously reimagines the conventional towel holder through a creative visual paradox, designed by Lebanese designer Walid Nasrala. This sophisticated bathroom fixture, crafted from chrome-plated metal and hard PVC accessories, presents itself as a water tap but functions as a towel hanger, creating an engaging visual illusion that challenges traditional bathroom design paradigms. The design's conceptual brilliance lies in its strategic placement near wash basins, where its proximity to actual water taps amplifies the playful contradiction between its appearance and function. The product features a concealed hook system, meticulously developed through multiple 3D-printed prototypes, that efficiently supports towel weight while allowing easy removal with a simple hand pull. With dimensions of 400mm width, 1500mm depth, and 1050mm height, and weighing 600 grams, the design exemplifies minimalist sophistication while maintaining practical functionality. The product, which earned the Bronze A' Design Award in the Bathroom Furniture and Sanitary Ware Design category, represents a significant innovation in bathroom accessories by combining practical utility with artistic expression. Its development, completed between April and June 2013 in Beirut, demonstrates a thoughtful approach to manufacturing constraints, resulting in a cost-effective production process that maintains high design standards and durability.
