Drop Marble Coffee Table Coffee Table

Drop Marble Coffee Table Coffee Table is an innovative furniture design that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary aesthetics, featuring a meticulously crafted combination of solid wood and marble elements. Created by Turkish designer Buket Hoscan Bazman, this sophisticated piece measures 1200 mm x 1200 mm x 350 mm and showcases a distinctive conical form with a lacquered wooden body and carefully selected marble tabletop. The design's modernist approach challenges traditional furniture conventions through its minimal simplicity and functional innovation, incorporating thoughtfully designed space compartments for organizing small household accessories. A notable technical feature is the integration of hidden wheels beneath the structure, enabling effortless mobility despite the substantial weight typically associated with marble furniture. The production process involves sophisticated woodworking techniques, utilizing turning machines for both the inner conical section and the outer shell, which is cleverly divided into two parts to achieve perfect lines and smooth surfaces. The design's versatility is enhanced through various marble texture and color combinations, making each piece unique while maintaining its core aesthetic principles. This coffee table, which won the Golden A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category, represents a significant advancement in contemporary furniture design, particularly in its approach to making marble furniture more accessible and functional for modern living spaces. The design's attention to practical considerations extends to its carefully calculated open areas, which not only serve storage purposes but are also dimensioned to facilitate easy cleaning and maintenance, making it particularly suitable for both residential settings and commercial spaces such as hotel lobbies and offices.
