Dreams Chasing Life And Art Showroom

Dreams Chasing Life And Art Showroom

Dreams Chasing Life and Art Showroom is an innovative interior design project that reimagines the conventional retail showroom concept through a sophisticated philosophical approach to spatial design. Located within a suburban mall, this 480-square-meter exhibition space, designed by Peihe Xie, transcends its primary function of displaying furniture and mattresses to create an immersive environment that bridges the gap between reality and dreams. The design philosophy centers on the concept of taking objects as reality, space as virtual, and dreams as the world, addressing the challenges presented by the space's narrow rectangular configuration and standard column grid structure. Through masterful architectural intervention, the design opens non-load-bearing partition walls and employs pure geometric forms to decompose and reconstruct the original space, creating interconnected areas of varying shapes and dimensions. The project's distinctive features include arc-shaped forms that introduce dynamic tension, strategic void spaces that enable spatial penetration, and sloping walls that suggest infinite possibilities. The material palette, consisting of concrete, white and black latex paint, and plastic flooring, creates a minimalist canvas that enhances the dreamlike quality of the space. Completed in December 2018, this exceptional project earned recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its innovative approach to retail space design and its successful integration of artistic and functional elements.
