DOMM Corporate Design is a sophisticated corporate identity system developed for a northern Italian cuisine restaurant in Zurich, Switzerland, exemplifying a harmonious fusion of traditional elements with modern design sensibilities. Created in 2014, this comprehensive visual identity system features a distinctive pictogram system that ingeniously incorporates culinary, fashion, sports, and architectural elements from northern Italian culture, rendered through strict geometrical patterns that pay homage to twentieth-century art design principles. The design's foundation rests on a carefully constructed modern lettermark, complemented by the classic Bodoni typeface, chosen specifically for its northern Italian heritage through its creator Giambattista Bodoni. A notable feature of the identity is its innovative logo, which cleverly merges the Milanese emblem with the Swiss cross, symbolizing the cultural bridge between the restaurant's culinary origins and its location. The implementation of the design spans various applications, utilizing digital printing on recycled popset storm paper for general materials and silk-screen printing for menu production, demonstrating a commitment to both environmental consciousness and premium production values.
