Located in the Yuhuatai district of Nanjing, China's emerging technology hub, this 30,000-square-meter, four-story development represents a paradigm shift in retail architecture by introducing the concept of docking stations throughout its design. The mall's distinctive feature lies in its adaptable spaces that seamlessly blend work, leisure, and retail functions, catering to the dynamic lifestyle of modern professionals, particularly those in the technology sector. The design philosophy centers around creating multiple docking points, highlighted by monochromatic yellow accents, which serve as energy nodes and social catalysts throughout the space. Two primary docking components define the space: the I-dock in the main atrium functions as an Instagram-worthy focal point and information hub, while the S-dock in the secondary atrium provides a stepped platform for social interaction and sustainable design elements, including natural light integration. The mall's innovative approach, which earned it a Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design, is characterized by its streamlined architectural elements that flow through the space like integrated circuitry, connecting various lifestyle components.
