Diamond Chair is an innovative furniture design that masterfully combines geometric aesthetics with traditional Chinese cultural elements. Created by designer Yi Feng, this sophisticated seating solution exemplifies the harmonious fusion of Eastern aesthetics and modern design principles. The chair's distinctive form draws inspiration from the precise geometric patterns found in diamond cuts, featuring a meticulously crafted backrest made from PMMA material that creates an abstract aesthetic statement. Measuring 640mm in width, 625mm in depth, and 855mm in height, the chair demonstrates exceptional attention to material integration, combining red plexiglass, solid wood, and textile elements. The base, crafted from solid wood, incorporates traditional Oriental aesthetic principles, while the mountain-shaped back design ensures ergonomic support. The chair's development, completed between September 2017 and March 2018 in Beijing, involved extensive research into material integration and environmental impact considerations. The design successfully addresses the technical challenge of joining disparate materials while maintaining structural integrity and aesthetic appeal. This innovative approach to furniture design earned recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category, acknowledging its creative merit and technical execution.
