Dhawa Jinan Daming Lake Resort Hotel

Dhawa Jinan Daming Lake Resort Hotel is a distinguished architectural and interior design achievement that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of historical preservation and contemporary hospitality design. Originally constructed as the Jiangxi Guild Hall during the Qianlong era in the mid-18th century, this cultural heritage site has been thoughtfully transformed into a sophisticated resort hotel while maintaining its historical significance. The property, spanning approximately 9,800 square meters with a design area of 16,200 square meters, encompasses 99 guest rooms, complemented by modern amenities including bars, spa facilities, restaurants, and conference spaces. The design philosophy, conceptualized by Muchuan Xu, Shangzhao Yang, and Minxi Cai, centers on the principle of new knowledge of hometown, which artfully translates traditional elements and cultural motifs into contemporary design expressions. The project's distinctive features include its innovative interpretation of classical northern Chinese residential architecture, incorporating elements inspired by local cultural narratives such as the love story between Xia Yuhe and Emperor Qianlong, reflected in the lobby's design through glass umbrellas and mirrored lotus leaves. The renovation, completed in 2023, successfully addresses the complex challenges of modernizing a historical structure while preserving its cultural essence, featuring sustainable design elements such as natural lighting through grid glass ceilings and efficient heating systems. This exceptional transformation earned the project a Gold A' Design Award in the Hospitality, Recreation, Travel and Tourism Design category, recognizing its outstanding contribution to cultural preservation and innovative hospitality design.
