Design Of Pelmets

Design Of Pelmets

A Pelmet is a decorative addition to a window treatment that is typically made from fabric, wood or melamine. It is a decorative board or panel that is attached to the top of a window frame, concealing the curtain rod and fixture hardware. Pelmets are used in interior design to add a stylish and sophisticated touch to a room and can complement existing decor. To design a pelmet that stands out and enhances the overall aesthetic of a room, it’s essential to consider a few design guidelines. First, the pelmet's size should be proportional to the window, taking into account both height and width. The pelmet should not be too large that it crowds the rest of the window treatment or too small that it gets lost in the space. Secondly, it's essential to select the right fabric that complements the room's decor. The color and texture of the fabric should blend in with the surrounding elements, such as furniture, carpets, and curtains. Choosing a high-quality fabric not only adds durability to the pelmet but also adds a sense of luxury and elegance to the entire room. Thirdly, consider the shape and design of the pelmet. A unique pelmet design that complements the architectural style of the room creates a luxurious look. Besides, pelmets can be customized with various decorative elements, such as trims, tassels, and fringes, that create a unique visual appeal. Lastly, ensure that the pelmet installation process is seamless and professional. It's necessary to install the pelmet correctly, so it does not detract from its aesthetic appeal. The brackets for attaching the pelmet should be sturdy, ensuring the pelmet remains firmly in place.
