Demisters
Demisters, also known as mist eliminators or entrainment separators, are devices used to remove liquid droplets or mist from a gas stream. They are commonly used in various industrial processes, including chemical processing, oil refining, and power generation. Demisters work by utilizing a variety of mechanisms, such as impingement, interception, and diffusion, to capture and remove liquid droplets from a gas stream. One common type of demister is a wire mesh demister, which consists of multiple layers of knitted wire mesh. As the gas stream passes through the mesh, liquid droplets are captured and coalesce into larger droplets, which then drain off the mesh and are collected. Another type of demister is a vane-type demister, which uses a series of vanes to redirect the gas stream and cause liquid droplets to impact and coalesce on the vanes. Demisters are essential in many industrial processes, as the presence of liquid droplets in a gas stream can cause a variety of problems, such as corrosion, fouling, and reduced efficiency. By removing liquid droplets from the gas stream, demisters help to ensure that industrial processes run smoothly and efficiently.
