Deep Attachment Residential House is an award-winning residential interior design project completed in 2019, located in Tangshan, Hebei province, China, that masterfully transforms a standard industrial workshop into a sophisticated living space spanning 1,000 square meters. The design, conceived by Jun Zheng and Zixu Li, draws profound inspiration from the client's emotional connection to pigeons, incorporating this theme throughout the spatial composition. The project's distinctive layout features a central corridor that bifurcates the space, creating a balanced arrangement reminiscent of pigeon wings in flight. This innovative approach to spatial organization facilitates a harmonious flow between dynamic and static areas, with the kitchen and sitting room positioned in complementary opposition to each other. The design successfully addresses the challenges of working within an older industrial structure, integrating contemporary design elements while respecting the building's original character. Notable features include carefully curated artistic elements, including commissioned paintings that celebrate the theme of pigeons, creating a narrative thread throughout the space. The interior employs a sophisticated lighting scheme that transitions effectively from day to night, while custom floral chairs and nature-inspired wall treatments enhance the organic aesthetic. The project, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, exemplifies excellence in spatial planning, demonstrating how personal narrative can be woven into architectural design to create a deeply meaningful living environment.
