DAX TABLE Table

DAX TABLE Table

DAX TABLE Table is an innovative furniture design that transforms complex financial data into tangible aesthetic form, specifically translating the DAX stock index into a three-dimensional sculptural table. Created through sophisticated 3D computer programming and advanced manufacturing techniques, this contemporary piece seamlessly integrates German design elements with both classic and modern aesthetics. The table, measuring 95 x 95 x 160 centimeters, features a distinctive lattice structure derived from stock market data points, where market fluctuations are interpreted into elegant geometric patterns that serve both structural and aesthetic purposes. The design employs CNC milling technology, sand casting, and 3D printing to achieve its complex forms, with particular attention paid to the upright structure's acute angular changes that create compelling light refractions. This sophisticated approach to furniture design, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category, demonstrates an innovative fusion of data visualization and functional art. The table's construction emphasizes substantive form and careful material selection, particularly utilizing aluminum through stretch forming techniques to achieve its unique geometric properties. Developed between September 2013 and June 2014 in Hong Kong and Berlin, this piece exemplifies how contemporary design can transform abstract mathematical concepts into practical, aesthetically pleasing furniture while maintaining industrial production efficiency and functionality.
