Dark Side Recessed Lighting Fixture
Dark Side Recessed Lighting Fixture is an innovative architectural lighting solution that seamlessly integrates cosmic-inspired design elements with functional illumination, created by designer Igor Lobanov. This sophisticated lighting system represents a harmonious fusion of artistic expression and technical engineering, featuring a range of seamless recessed luminaires crafted from a combination of gypsum and concrete materials. The fixture's distinctive design creates an illusion of spherical volume through its central component, which is accentuated by a LED ring that highlights the relief and surface textures when illuminated. Available in multiple dimensions ranging from 390mm to 750mm in recessed size, each variant in the collection is named after celestial bodies, including Titan, Io, Moon, Europa, and Enceladus, reflecting its space-inspired aesthetic. The fixture's construction comprises two primary components: a main body molded from gypsum using silicone forms, incorporating metal threaded inserts for assembly and mounting purposes, and a central concrete element that adds textural contrast. The design's innovative approach to combining different LED colors and color temperatures with varied concrete compositions creates a diverse array of lighting possibilities, while its seamless integration with wall surfaces maintains architectural continuity. This exceptional design achievement was recognized with the Platinum A' Design Award in the Lighting Products and Fixtures Design category, acknowledging its contribution to contemporary lighting design through its unique combination of meditative ambiance, technical sophistication, and aesthetic refinement, particularly suited for residential spaces such as bedrooms, lounges, and rest areas where atmospheric lighting is paramount.
