Damavand House Residence Residential House is an innovative residential architectural project situated on a mountain slope in Iran, exemplifying a harmonious blend of contemporary design and environmental adaptation. The structure, completed in 2016, features a distinctive sloped box design pushed by a stone wedge, creating a unique architectural composition that responds to both aesthetic and functional requirements. The three-story residence, spanning 390 square meters, demonstrates sophisticated spatial organization with a ground floor dedicated to utility spaces, a first floor housing public areas, and a second floor containing private rooms and a substantial terrace. The design's response to challenging climatic conditions is particularly noteworthy, incorporating specialized solutions for snow removal and thermal isolation. The building's construction employs a metal structure with welded connections, featuring a modular extruded metal sheet exterior skin that ensures water insulation, complemented by a polypropylene-liquid shooting system for thermal efficiency. The architectural language combines modern materials with natural elements, utilizing wood for upper floors and stone for the basement, creating a visual dialogue between contemporary design and traditional villa aesthetics. This Silver A' Design Award-winning project, designed by Hossein Shirazian, addresses complex structural challenges in an earthquake-prone region while maintaining aesthetic integrity through its pure forms and careful consideration of the surrounding landscape, offering panoramic views of the adjacent plain while adapting to the condensed neighborhood context.
