D M Residence Residential Interior
D M Residence Residential Interior is an exemplary residential design project that seamlessly integrates living, dining, and kitchen spaces within a 110-square-meter area, demonstrating sophisticated contemporary interior architecture. This Bronze A' Design Award-winning project, conceived by Brazilian architect Thiago Mondini, showcases an innovative approach to storage solutions through ingeniously designed slatted panels that conceal extensive cabinetry while maintaining visual cleanliness and architectural integrity. The design's distinguishing feature lies in its dual functionality, where every slatted panel serves as both an aesthetic element and practical storage solution, extending from floor to ceiling. The space was constructed using lightweight steel structures as an expansion to an existing apartment, incorporating regional white marble and local Brazilian materials to create a harmonious blend of elegance and functionality. The kitchen area represents a departure from conventional design, adopting a stylish bar-like aesthetic that facilitates social interaction while maintaining full functionality. The project, completed in December 2018, overcame significant structural challenges by utilizing border-positioned support systems, eliminating the need for internal pillars while carefully managing material weight distribution. The interior's sophisticated design philosophy emphasizes clean lines and contemporary aesthetics while providing ample storage for personal memorabilia, creating a space that balances minimalist architecture with personal expression. The project exemplifies how thoughtful interior architecture can transform living spaces into both functional and aesthetically pleasing environments, earning recognition through the prestigious A' Design Award competition for its innovative approach to residential interior design.
