Cutting-edge of Nature Restaurant is an innovative architectural and interior design project that revolutionizes the traditional dining experience by seamlessly integrating primitive human connections with nature into a contemporary restaurant setting. Completed in December 2016 in Japan, this remarkable two-story establishment spans 130 square meters and features a groundbreaking design that draws inspiration from humanity's ancestral relationship with outdoor dining and natural shelters. The restaurant's most distinctive feature is its unique 6.5-meter glass table, constructed using recycled and colored materials, which creates an illusion of captured smoke - a one-of-a-kind piece that adds to the establishment's distinctive character. The first floor showcases a meticulously crafted cave-like environment that invites tactile exploration, while the second floor incorporates an innovative combination of planted walls and steel pipes that simulate a forest canopy. These steel structures serve both aesthetic and functional purposes, with integrated hooks mimicking tree branches that allow patrons to hang personal items, adding splashes of color reminiscent of natural elements while simultaneously managing privacy between dining spaces. The design employs carefully layered OSB panels to create topographical contours and level variations in the flooring, enhancing the natural aesthetic and spatial experience. This exceptional project, which earned the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2017, demonstrates a sophisticated understanding of biophilic design principles and showcases innovative approaches to materials and spatial organization.
