Crystal Crop Commercial is an innovative architectural and interior design project that represents a paradigm shift in contemporary office design, completed in 2015 in the Wazirpur district of Delhi, India. The 34,000-square-foot structure features a distinctive exterior characterized by a skewed 60m x 60m glass cube protruding from an 85m long metal plane, incorporating terreal louvers for enhanced thermal efficiency. The design philosophy seamlessly integrates environmental consciousness with corporate functionality, employing an array of sustainable materials and innovative spatial solutions. The interior design challenges traditional office hierarchies through an open-plan layout, utilizing unique material combinations such as concrete flooring juxtaposed with wooden slats, and bamboo ceilings paired with reclaimed wooden flooring. Notable for being the first commercial building in India to incorporate terreal in interiors and cork flooring, the project demonstrates exceptional environmental sensitivity while maintaining sophisticated aesthetics. The structure's ground floor remains adaptable for future expansion, while the first and second floors house the corporate offices. Break-out areas feature minimalist furniture arrangements set against natural grass, seamlessly integrated within the facade design. The project, which won the Golden A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2017, exemplifies how commercial architecture can harmoniously blend environmental responsibility with contemporary corporate requirements through innovative design solutions and material applications.
