Crestridge Residence Single Family Home

Crestridge Residence Single Family Home

Crestridge Residence Single Family Home is an exemplary architectural achievement in modern residential design, representing a sophisticated transformation of a dated tract home into a contemporary living space. Located on a 21,000-square-foot down-sloping lot, this 2,100-square-foot residence masterfully balances aesthetic refinement with functional efficiency through its innovative renovation approach. The design seamlessly integrates interior and exterior spaces, featuring a vertical louver system crafted from natural iron wood with black oxide hardware, complemented by grey aluminum cladding. The residence's rear elevation is distinguished by a vaulted great room volume and an elongated frame adorned with warm wood siding, creating a harmonious contrast with whitewashed wood surfaces and expansive windows that capture panoramic views of the Los Angeles basin. The architectural intervention maintains the original footprint while introducing modern elements such as flooding natural light, composed volumetric interiors, and large openings that establish a fluid connection with the outdoor environment. The home's spatial organization includes two distinct private wings, thoughtfully positioned at opposite ends to facilitate multi-generational living while preserving privacy. This architectural project, recognized with a Golden A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design category, exemplifies the potential of thoughtful renovation in transforming ordinary structures into extraordinary living spaces. The design's success lies in its careful balance of modern aesthetics with practical functionality, achieved through meticulous attention to material selection, spatial planning, and environmental integration.
