CPR Penthouse Apartment
CPR Penthouse Apartment is an innovative residential interior design project located on the top two floors of a contemporary building, exemplifying sophisticated space optimization and architectural ingenuity. This Bronze A' Design Award-winning project, completed in 2018, masterfully addresses complex spatial challenges arising from local building regulations regarding terraced levels, transforming potential limitations into distinctive design features. The 144-square-meter apartment showcases a harmonious blend of contemporary aesthetics and functional practicality, characterized by its strategic use of contrasting materials and thoughtful space division. The interior design employs grey painted furniture panels integrated seamlessly with the architecture to define distinct zones, while maintaining an open-plan concept that capitalizes on the apartment's panoramic views. The living spaces are distinguished by a deliberate material contrast, featuring bright, welcoming areas with wooden parquet flooring and accent lighting, juxtaposed against more intimate spaces utilizing soft, tactile materials such as fabrics and wood wall treatments. The bedrooms incorporate cozy, sophisticated material selections, while the bathroom features an innovative plywood ceiling that serves both decorative and functional purposes. Despite initial structural constraints, including inconvenient structural elements and areas with low sloped roofs, the design successfully creates a contemporary living environment that maximizes natural light and spatial flow, incorporating spacious outdoor terraces that extend the living space. The project's success lies in its thoughtful resolution of spatial challenges while maintaining a cohesive design language that emphasizes functionality, aesthetic appeal, and connection to the surrounding urban landscape.
