Corridor Restaurant is an innovative interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of industrial vintage aesthetics with contemporary functionality, situated in Luodong, Taiwan. This thoughtfully conceived establishment features a dual-space concept, comprising a sophisticated bar area and a luminous dining space, each crafted to serve distinct social experiences. The design's architectural ingenuity is evident in its transformation of a traditional three-story building's ground floor, where the front section showcases industrial elements through black ironwork, grey painted ceilings, and multi-layered lighting fixtures, creating an intimate atmosphere for evening gatherings. The rear section, converted from a former courtyard, features a striking glass house design with transparent fiberglass panels and heat-insulating tin roofing, allowing natural light to flood the space while maintaining thermal comfort. The project, which earned the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates exceptional spatial planning through its clever resolution of technical challenges, particularly in addressing the region's significant rainfall through innovative floor engineering and water management systems. The establishment's distinctive character is enhanced by its dual functionality as both a dining venue and an art gallery, with custom ironwork elements and carefully curated artwork displays throughout the 165.2-square-meter space. Designer Ke-Hsuan Yang's vision successfully integrates practical solutions with aesthetic excellence, creating an environment that serves as both a sophisticated evening venue and a welcoming daytime gathering space for families and friends.
