Correction Fluids

Correction fluids, also known as liquid paper or white-out, are a type of fluid used to correct errors made while writing or typing. These fluids are typically applied to paper with a brush or applicator and dry quickly, creating a surface that can be written or typed over. Correction fluids are commonly used in offices, schools, and homes to correct mistakes on documents, such as letters, reports, and homework assignments. The first correction fluid was invented in 1956 by Bette Nesmith Graham, a typist and single mother who wanted to find a way to correct her typing errors without having to retype the entire document. Graham's invention, called Mistake Out, was a water-based fluid that could be painted over errors and allowed to dry before typing over it. The product was later renamed Liquid Paper and became a popular correction fluid brand. Correction fluids are available in a variety of colors, including white, black, and various shades of gray, to match the color of the paper being corrected. Some correction fluids also come in pen form, making them easier to apply to small errors or in tight spaces. In addition to correcting errors, correction fluids can also be used to cover up unwanted marks or stains on paper. While correction fluids are a useful tool for correcting mistakes, they should be used with caution. Overuse of correction fluids can make documents look messy and unprofessional, and correction fluids can also be harmful if ingested or inhaled. It is important to follow the instructions on the product label and use correction fluids in a well-ventilated area.
