Core Residence
Core Residence is an exemplary residential interior design project spanning 264 square meters, distinguished by its innovative approach to modern family living and sophisticated spatial planning. Located adjacent to verdant parkland, this thoughtfully conceived dwelling seamlessly integrates open-plan design principles to maximize natural illumination and exterior views. The design, created by Teng-Syu Tseng, is characterized by its masterful use of naturalistic materials, primarily incorporating masonry and timber veneer, complemented by strategic ironwork elements to create a harmonious living environment. The spatial arrangement is conceptually anchored in the metaphor of family connectivity, with public spaces including the living room, dining area, and study seamlessly integrated as a central familial nucleus. The project, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates exceptional technical solutions in addressing structural challenges, particularly in the creative utilization of existing beams and columns as design elements that define spatial boundaries while maintaining visual continuity. The interior's sophisticated material palette employs neutral and earth tones, creating a minimal yet warm atmosphere that promotes tranquility and comfort. Notable design features include a grilled ceiling design that establishes horizontal connections between public and private domains, sliding door systems that enable flexible space utilization, and thoughtfully positioned transparent materials that facilitate family interaction while maintaining distinct functional zones. The project exemplifies contemporary residential design excellence through its successful integration of practical functionality, aesthetic refinement, and innovative spatial solutions that enhance modern urban family living.
