Coral Heart Installation Art

Coral Heart Installation Art

Coral Heart Installation Art is an innovative interactive lighting installation that masterfully combines architectural elements, lighting design, and performance art to create a powerful statement about marine conservation and environmental awareness. Created by designer Sammy Liu, this large-scale installation measures 120000 x 100000 x 55000 mm and employs sophisticated laser cutting, precision lathe cutting, and 3D simulation techniques in its construction, utilizing metal and polypropylene materials to achieve its striking form. The installation's core concept revolves around the representation of coral bleaching and regeneration, featuring an interactive system where visitors can engage with the artwork through touch-sensitive buttons that trigger dramatic lighting transitions. When activated, the installation demonstrates the devastating effects of coral bleaching through dimming gray lights, followed by a gradual restoration of vibrant colors, symbolizing the potential for ecological recovery. This Bronze A' Design Award-winning creation in the Lighting Products and Fixtures Design category stands as a permanent exhibition in Dapeng Bay, serving as both an artistic landmark and an educational tool. The installation's sophisticated lighting program creates an immersive experience that simulates the delicate relationship between human activity and marine ecosystems, while its architectural design draws inspiration from the natural forms of coral formations. Through its daily cycle of destruction and rebirth, the installation effectively communicates the urgent message of marine conservation while offering an aesthetically compelling and technologically advanced artistic experience.
