Convection Residential House

Convection Residential House is an innovative residential interior design project completed in 2017 in Taichung City, Taiwan, that exemplifies sustainable urban living through thoughtful space utilization and environmentally conscious material selection. The 114-square-meter dwelling showcases a sophisticated integration of public and private spaces, utilizing a central hallway to divide the rectangular layout into distinct functional areas. The design, created by Chi Ching Ko and Pi Chu Wei, emphasizes environmental sustainability through the extensive use of EU-standard compliant materials that offer superior dirt-resistance, scratch-resistance, and fire-resistance properties. The interior features a harmonious blend of natural materials including glass, metal, stone, and recycled timber, with particular attention paid to the implementation of anti-formaldehyde paint and energy-efficient LED lighting systems. The public spaces are characterized by a free-flowing layout, with a striking foyer featuring lacquered glass that seamlessly transitions into the dining area, anchored by a distinctive white Spanish Silestone dining table. The living area showcases a sophisticated contrast between clouded marble and carefully selected wall treatments, while the private spaces employ pale-timbered elements to create tranquil environments. The master bedroom incorporates innovative storage solutions that double as architectural elements, concealing structural beams while contributing to the multi-layered ceiling design. This residential project, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2019, demonstrates exceptional attention to practical living requirements while maintaining high aesthetic standards through its handle-less cabinet designs and abundant storage solutions that integrate seamlessly with the living spaces.
