Concord School Home Economics Room is an innovative educational space design that exemplifies modern pedagogical principles through its distinctive oval-structured layout, spanning 1500 square feet. This thoughtfully conceived interior design project, completed in February 2022, represents a significant departure from traditional classroom architecture by incorporating an oval-shaped central learning area that symbolizes inclusion and togetherness. The space features a sophisticated color palette combining white, wood tones, and lake blue, creating a peaceful and nurturing learning environment. The ceiling's lake blue curved design enhances the sense of tranquility, while recessed downlighting around the oval perimeter provides warm, ambient illumination. The functional zones are strategically divided according to the oval layout, encompassing specialized areas for laundry, baking, and preparation, alongside a professional-grade café section equipped with coffee machines for barista skill development. The flooring utilizes a creative combination of light grey, dark grey, and wood grain oval patterns to delineate different functional areas, corresponding harmoniously with the ceiling design. This Bronze A' Design Award-winning project in the Interior Space and Exhibition Design category demonstrates exceptional attention to student needs, fostering an environment that encourages collaborative learning, skill development, and confidence building through its user-centric design approach.
