Concept #3 Electric Motorcycle
Concept #3 Electric Motorcycle is an innovative electric-powered two-wheeled vehicle that represents a harmonious fusion of traditional motorcycle aesthetics with cutting-edge sustainable transportation technology. Designed by Stefan Tóth between 2011 and 2015 in Slovakia, this groundbreaking design earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Vehicle, Mobility and Transportation Design category. The motorcycle features a sophisticated trellis frame construction crafted from welded steel tubes, with overall dimensions of 1977 x 860 x 1278 mm and a wheelbase of 1328 mm. Its most distinctive technical innovation lies in its quick-change battery system, facilitated by a unique right-section frame design that can be opened for efficient battery replacement. The powertrain incorporates an electric motor mounted directly on the swingarm, utilizing a hidden chain drive system housed within a closed chamber, which enables regenerative braking while minimizing maintenance requirements. The design showcases several innovative features, including illuminated translucent brake fluid reservoirs that double as turn indicators, a see-through dashboard allowing riders to maintain road visibility, and an integrated storage compartment in the upper section. Drawing inspiration from custom motorcycle builders and futuristic design aesthetics, the motorcycle was conceived as an all-purpose urban mobility solution, equally suitable for commuting and recreational use. The design emphasizes sustainability through its electric powertrain and innovative battery leasing concept, envisioning integration with renewable energy charging stations. The motorcycle's operation has been simplified compared to conventional motorcycles, eliminating the need for a clutch lever and shift pedal while maintaining familiar control elements such as handlebar-mounted brake levers.
