Colour Temperature Shanghai Small Apartment Design
Colour Temperature Shanghai Small Apartment Design is an innovative interior design project that exemplifies sophisticated space optimization in urban residential environments, particularly noteworthy for its creative approach to small-space living in Shanghai's metropolitan context. This Bronze A' Design Award-winning project, conceived and executed by designer Yanfei Li, masterfully addresses the challenges of limited space within a 54-square-meter apartment through thoughtful spatial arrangement and strategic use of color psychology. The design's distinguishing feature lies in its seamless integration of multifunctional spaces, employing a sophisticated combination of materials and colors to delineate different functional areas without rigid structural divisions. The living and dining areas are ingeniously combined yet distinctly separated through subtle floor material transitions between wood and cement, while a U-shaped curtain rail system enables dynamic space transformation, allowing the living room to convert into a guest room when needed. The interior's color scheme is meticulously planned, with cool grey tones in the kitchen and restroom areas promoting tranquility, while warm hues in the living and bedroom spaces foster vitality. The design incorporates Memphis-inspired elements and geometric patterns, creating a modern aesthetic that balances functionality with visual appeal. Notable technical features include custom-designed L-shaped cabinetry in the bedroom (1940mm x 600mm x 2600mm) and an embedded fireplace in the dining room cabinet (1400mm x 200mm x 400mm), demonstrating exceptional attention to dimensional precision and practical utility. The project, completed in 2020, represents a significant achievement in contemporary urban residential design, particularly for its successful integration of sustainability principles and innovative space management solutions in high-density urban environments.
