Color Symphony Pavilion
Color Symphony Pavilion is an innovative architectural installation designed by Ho Wang Owen Lam and Pui Sze Kong, showcasing a harmonious blend of light, color, and spatial design within a prominent Hong Kong shopping destination. The pavilion, conceived as a celebration of post-pandemic renewal, features a sophisticated arrangement of colorful acrylic panels suspended within a white frame structure, spanning an impressive 180 square meters with a height of 8 meters. The design's distinctive characteristic lies in its dynamic interaction with natural light, creating an ever-changing symphony of colors and shadows that dance across the ground throughout the day. This immersive installation transforms the retail environment into an engaging public space where visitors can rest, interact, and experience the vibrant atmosphere. The strategic positioning of the cloud-shaped acrylic panels creates a mesmerizing visual effect, evoking a sense of floating bubbles and rippling clouds, while the carefully engineered structure ensures both aesthetic appeal and structural integrity. The pavilion, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, represents a thoughtful response to contemporary social needs, combining architectural innovation with psychological well-being. Its design philosophy draws inspiration from Hong Kong's dynamic urban energy, translating it into a tangible expression of hope and positivity through the creative use of materials, space, and light. The project, completed in 2023, demonstrates exceptional attention to technical execution while maintaining accessibility and visual appeal, successfully overcoming the challenges of implementing a large-scale installation within an operational retail environment.
