Clip Lamp

Clip Lamp

Clip Lamp is an innovative lighting fixture that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of functionality, sustainability, and minimalist design principles. Created by Serbian designer Milica Maric, this versatile illumination solution represents a thoughtful approach to sustainable design through its efficient use of oak wood waste materials and medium-density fiberboard. The lamp's distinctive two-part construction consists of a base component and an adjustable upper lighting element, connected by an ingenious small wooden wand mechanism that enables three distinct positioning options. Measuring 350mm x 50mm x 45mm, its compact form factor emphasizes portability and adaptability while maintaining aesthetic appeal. The surface treatment of the oak variant employs natural oils, showcasing a commitment to environmental consciousness while enhancing the wood's natural grain pattern through microporous properties that create a subtle shimmer effect. This design, which earned the Bronze A' Design Award in the Lighting Products and Fixtures Design category, emerged from a creative repurposing of production waste materials, drawing inspiration from traditional clothespins and easel mechanisms. The lamp's innovative construction allows for multiple positioning options, making it particularly suitable for various lighting scenarios while embodying principles of sustainable design through its efficient use of materials and thoughtful construction methods. The design successfully addresses contemporary needs for flexible, portable lighting solutions while maintaining a strong connection to traditional craftsmanship and environmental responsibility.
