Clinic Co Coffee Shop

Clinic Co Coffee Shop

Clinic Co Coffee Shop is an innovative architectural and interior design project that exemplifies contemporary coffee shop design through its thoughtful integration of form and function. Located in Ankara, Turkey, adjacent to a prominent shopping mall, this 260-square-meter establishment serves as both a retail space and brand headquarters, featuring a distinctive horizontally-oriented facade that creates an inviting street presence. The design, conceived by Turkish architect Onder Akyazıcı, emphasizes transparency and minimalism while incorporating sophisticated material choices including handmade terrazzo tiles, custom-molded acrylic surfaces, and innovative polycarbonate panels. The space is strategically divided into three primary zones: a coffee bar, terrace, and work area, with the coffee bar further segmented into brewing station, espresso bar, and pastry bar sections. Notable architectural elements include a custom-designed C-bench for coffee workshops, a specially engineered single-piece metal staircase, and a sophisticated facade that maximizes natural light penetration. The project, completed in 2020, successfully overcame significant structural challenges, including the modification of street-level access, and earned recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category for its exceptional spatial design and innovative approach to contemporary coffee culture. The establishment's design philosophy emphasizes the celebration of coffee craftsmanship while creating an accessible, ergonomic environment that caters to an expanded demographic of coffee enthusiasts.
