Climate Adaptive Facade

Climate Adaptive Facade is a building envelope that can change its properties in response to weather and indoor needs, helping smart buildings use less energy and stay comfortable. These facades use sensors and simple controls to open vents, move shades, or change surface color when sunlight, wind, or temperature changes. Some designs use thin layers filled with water or air that can move heat around, or special glass that can switch from clear to shaded with a small electric signal. These features help keep rooms cooler in summer and warmer in winter, often without much extra power. Designers can use these facades to make buildings that work well in many climates and save energy all year.
