City Of Saint Aubin Du Cormier Greetings Card

City of Saint Aubin du Cormier Greetings Card is an innovative illustrated cartographic design that reimagines traditional city representation through a detailed, artistic interpretation of urban landmarks and cultural events. Created by French designer Nadine Grenier, this artistic map serves both as a greeting card and an engaging visual guide to the historic French municipality. The design, measuring 210 x 100 millimeters in its greeting card format, incorporates hand-drawn illustrations created using digital tablet technology, enabling high-quality vectorization for scalable reproduction. The artwork meticulously captures the city's significant monuments, events, and locations through characteristic illustrations, offering viewers an unconventional yet comprehensive tour of Saint Aubin du Cormier. This creative approach to city mapping draws inspiration from interactive seek-and-find publications and contemporary illustrated city posters, while maintaining its unique artistic identity. The design successfully balances realistic representation with artistic interpretation, incorporating extensive iconographic research to ensure accuracy while maintaining visual appeal. The project, which earned a Silver A' Design Award in the Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design category, later evolved into a larger format (620 x 490 millimeters) as a colorable poster, extending its functionality from a promotional greeting card to an interactive educational tool. The design's versatility allows it to serve multiple purposes, from tourist information to pedagogical workshops, while its detailed illustrations encourage both locals and visitors to discover or rediscover the city's cultural heritage through an engaging visual narrative.
