City Forest Residential Space
City Forest Residential Space is an innovative residential interior design project completed in 2020 that exemplifies the harmonious integration of mature aesthetics, sustainable materials, and intelligent living solutions within a 128-square-meter urban dwelling. The design, conceived by Chien-Neng Chang, demonstrates a sophisticated approach to contemporary living spaces through its thoughtful balance of functionality and aesthetic appeal. The project's core concept revolves around creating a space that embodies maturity, youthfulness, and brightness, particularly tailored for a bachelor lifestyle. The design employs an open layout and transparent atmosphere, effectively simplifying excessive decorative elements while maintaining a clear and comfortable living environment. Notable features include the strategic use of eco-friendly decorative paint in the living room, EGGER wood-based panels in the bedrooms, and non-timber forest products for flooring, all of which underscore the project's commitment to environmental sustainability. The design successfully addresses architectural challenges such as low ceiling beams and interrupted traffic flow through innovative solutions, including the installation of three-sided door frames and textured wall panels as sliding doors. The space is further enhanced by warm lighting that accentuates its vitality, while color-hopping objects create visual depth and layering throughout the interior. The integration of an intelligent dehumidification system with moisture monitoring capabilities demonstrates the project's emphasis on both comfort and energy efficiency. This design, which won the Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, represents a significant achievement in residential interior design, showcasing how thoughtful space planning and sustainable materials can create a sophisticated urban living environment.
