Circularity - Genesis Resident Villa
Circularity - Genesis Resident Villa is an exemplary residential interior design project that masterfully integrates New Oriental and postmodern design elements, completed in 2018 in northern Taiwan. This sophisticated 264-square-meter living space embodies the Chinese philosophical concept of circularity, symbolizing perfection and wholeness through its thoughtful spatial composition and material selection. The design's distinctive approach manifests in its innovative use of penetrable spaces, featuring carefully crafted wooden grille cabinets that evoke the imagery of bamboo forests, while the strategic implementation of 'blanks'—a technique borrowed from Chinese ink painting—creates compelling visual dynamics between void and solid elements. The interior architecture demonstrates exceptional attention to detail through its manipulation of axes and proportions, particularly evident in the expanded television wall measuring 6 meters in depth and 8-10 meters in width. Natural materials, including dark marble corridors and white-dyed steel brush wood skin, are harmoniously integrated to achieve a sophisticated balance between traditional and contemporary aesthetics. The design, which earned a Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, showcases remarkable spatial innovation through its dismantled compartments and elevated platform features, creating a fluid, interconnected living environment. The project's sophisticated lighting design interplays with blue-green yarn mantles and striped glass screens, generating an ethereal atmosphere that transitions seamlessly between spaces, while the careful selection of postmodern furniture and lighting elements adds contemporary visual interest to the serene environment.
