Circle Of Life Residence

Circle Of Life Residence

Circle of Life Residence is an innovative architectural masterpiece that exemplifies the harmonious integration of circular design elements with modern living spaces. Located in New Taipei City, Taiwan, this residential project, completed in February 2020, was meticulously crafted by designer Jeff Hsu to embody the concept of family unity through its distinctive circular spatial configuration. The residence's most remarkable feature is its centrally positioned staircase, which appears to float without external supports, creating a fluid, river-like visual effect through advanced engineering and precise material selection. The design philosophy incorporates multiple circular elements throughout the space, from the double-circle entrance to the living room, to the arc-shaped walls and circular gold boundaries that define different functional areas. The interior showcases a sophisticated blend of materials, including ironware, ceramic tiles, and wooden flooring, creating clear spatial boundaries while maintaining visual continuity. The design particularly emphasizes child-friendly features through the implementation of semi-transparent arc partitions and rounded furniture elements, ensuring both safety and aesthetic appeal. The residence garnered international recognition by winning the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2021, acknowledging its exceptional integration of form and function, innovative use of materials, and thoughtful spatial planning. The project successfully creates a harmonious living environment that reflects natural imagery, incorporating elements inspired by the mountains and rivers of Tamsui through carefully selected materials and design elements such as mirror reflections, step cabinets, and gold leaf-shaped lampshades.
